As a global Health Economics and Outcomes Research manager, your primary responsibility is to support market access activities for the ADC portfolio with the aim of ensuring strong brand uptake and growth worldwide, specifically by developing and delivering HEOR strategies and tactics that target the multiple stakeholders who make or influence decisions on the funding and use of ADC products. They will work in close collaboration with key cross functional partners primarily in EMEA region but also across the US, LATAM, and APAC regions to initiate and execute Health Economic analyses, Outcomes Research/RWE studies and Market Access initiatives to maximize and protect patient access globally across the product life cycle.

This team member will be highly experienced and knowledgeable in delivering departmental strategy through creation and maintenance of tools and resources, education and training on reimbursement principles, and building relationships both internally and externally with co-workers, physicians and health economic opinion leaders. They will serve as a “content expert” on issue related to HEOR and HTA; they will have responsibility for scientific soundness of activities, and ensure outcomes aligned with Global and regional payer needs. They will partner with a worldwide community of well recognized experts/KOLs to ensure the development of state-of-the-art Health Economic and Outcomes Research studies. Key internal customers may include global affiliate MA leads, new product planning teams, clinical science and operations, medical affairs, marketing commercial teams and Government Affairs. Key external customers may include provider customers (physicians, registry or database director, hospital economic buyers…), private payers, HTA body, government agencies, physician societies, KOLs and industry trade associations.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure alignment of key internal stakeholders (commercial, RWE, medical and clinical teams) on business priorities and Health Economics & Outcomes Research / market access projects.
  • Initiate and execute Health Economic analyses, Outcomes Research/RWE studies and Market Access initiatives to maximize and protect patient access globally across the product life cycle.
  • Lead cross functional team on the development and adaptation of HEOR projects.
  • Ensure publication of relevant, high-quality data in impactful Health Economics & Outcomes Research publications (including presentation of findings at scientific congresses, key internal cross functional workshop/forum, and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals).
  • Coordinate with countries to best leverage published data to maximize the benefit for ADC.
  • Represent ADC in Global external institutions, ensuring impactful collaboration on common priorities.
  • Execution of HEOR strategy for FreeStyle Libre portfolio of products and new ADC product development.
  • Work closely and co-ordinate with Market Access colleagues to deliver health economic analyses and Outcomes Research/RWE studies that are aligned with this strategy.
  • In the current environment, reimbursement policies have a significant impact on patients, manufacturers, retailers, distributors, physicians and any healthcare provider. Failure to recognize reimbursement changes and opportunities may result in significant loss of revenue for new and existing products. This unique position encompasses total ADC responsibility for numerous facets of global reimbursement & payer engagement.

Experience You'll Bring

Required

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree, Masters Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, PharmD, Health Policy, Pharmaco-Epidemiology or Health Economics preferred.
  • At least 7 years’ experience in consulting, healthcare, pharmaceuticals industry or CRO (contract research organization) within pharmacoepidemiology, HEOR or market access.
  • Expertise in Health Economics and/or in Outcomes Research, pharmacoepidemiology, evidence-based medicine, competitive effectiveness research and peer review publication process. Broad knowledge of HTA, payers/ private payers reimbursement / OUS and US experience desired.
  • Understanding of health care policy; strategic understanding of the business and strategic thinking.
  • Experience working with KOLs, with ability to develop strong positive external relationships.

Preferred

  • Thorough understanding of public and commercial payer models in one country preferably in EMEA or US, covering reimbursement concepts (e.g., coverage, coding, and payment), clinical and economic evidence needs of decision makers.
  • Strong knowledge base re: international health systems and payment schemes.
  • Understanding of evidence-based medicine and study design.
  • Understanding of design and use of common health economic analyses.
  • Ability to analyze information and to assess impact of reimbursement policies on ADC.
  • Understanding of medical / clinical research methods and publication interpretation and ability to use evidence to support value proposition.
  • Set Vision and Strategy; Excellent interpersonal and communication skill; Drive for Results. Self-starter with ability to work independently under the guidance of senior staff.
