Role Description

The Regional Director (RD) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational guidance for REI’s stores within their assigned region. The RD is directly accountable for monitoring and achieving regional performance goals across:

  • Revenue
  • Membership
  • Operational KPIs
  • Profitability targets
  • Employee engagement
  • Team development

This leader will play a key role in driving REI’s transformation agenda across REI’s stores by:

  • Ensuring regional strategies are developed to achieve the Co-op’s long-term membership goals
  • Increasing growth opportunities
  • Ensuring stores, employees, and offerings reflect the outdoor needs of the communities, members, and customers
  • Achieving equity, diversity, and inclusion goals
  • Building a deep pool of diverse leadership talent
  • Acting as a positive change agent in support of the co-op and stores transformation plan

This role creates an inclusive environment and develops diverse teams and leaders representing the communities we aspire to serve, including outreach to underserved groups, as well as strengthening current customer relationships in the region through new, innovative initiatives (e.g., new stores, and partnerships).

While this role is remote, candidates should be prepared to travel up to 60% of the time and should be based in Dallas, Houston, or Austin, TX metropolitan areas.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive management in high volume/multi-unit business
  • Financial and business acumen to drive profitability
  • Demonstrated experience of cross-divisional partnership and collaboration
  • Proven experience in driving vision and goals
  • Ability to manage ambiguity
  • Drives a culture of accountability in each store
  • Successful in fostering and working as part of a diverse and inclusive team
  • Deep understanding of leading in an omni-centric store environment
  • Proven track record of developing and promoting diverse talent

Requirements

  • Monitor and achieve regional and store organization performance goals
  • Drive adjustments to strategies and tactics as necessary to achieve regional and divisional goals
  • Ensure all stores consistently achieve or exceed revenue, membership, operational KPIs, and profitability goals
  • Deliver consistent high standards of customer experience in stores in accordance with the Co-op Way and service standards
  • Support Co-op wide initiatives with direct leadership participation
  • Manage regional store teams and monitor KPIs that measure regional plan effectiveness
  • Anticipate local challenges and opportunities to create multi-year regional plans
  • Collaborate with local brand engagement team and experiences team to identify and collaborate with business-critical community partnerships
  • Influence cross-divisional partners to achieve Co-Op strategies and ensure local relevance

Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location or other relevant factors.

Pay Range

$133,600.00 - $200,400.00 per year
