As a member of the IT Management Team, you are responsible for managing, developing, and leading a team of employees. Your role includes leading the specific functional responsibilities of your team, which involves overseeing team performance and deliverables. However, your role as a leader within our organization requires more than the management of resources and day-to-day operations. As a steward of the company, you are charged with the development and execution of your team’s strategic vision and plan and ensuring that your team’s actions align with the larger goals of the company and the IT Division.

The Enterprise Architecture Manager is a strategic leader who will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape, implement, and govern our organization's architectural vision and standards. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of enterprise architecture, strategic planning, and team leadership. You'll be instrumental in overseeing the architectural practice, from defining business capabilities to guiding technology, data, infrastructure, networking, security, and AI architectures. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing IT strategies, ensuring architectural alignment with overarching business objectives, and leading an architecture team to foster continuous innovation and operational excellence.

Identifies learning opportunities to strengthen employee knowledge, skill and ability. â—Ź Holds monthly 1:1 with each employee to set clear performance expectations and provide thoughtful and timely coaching and feedback to ensure department, business, and company procedures and standards are met.

â—Ź Conducts yearly performance reviews.

â—Ź Models a culture of continual learning and professional development by providing regular training and professional development opportunities.

â—Ź Reviews applicant submissions for job postings, conducts interviews, and makes recommendations regarding hiring status.

â—Ź Responds to employee concerns using problem-solving skills, tact, and discretion in accordance with the Costco Employee Agreement and other applicable regulations.

â—Ź Develops and sustains positive working relations with business stakeholders.

â—Ź This is a full-time management/leadership position (45+ hours per week).

REQUIRED

● 5+ years’ experience in Managing architecture, solution design, development, and governance teams.

● 3+ years’ experience in IT operations, business team management, or application management.

● 3+ years’ experience in business relationship management, including Executive level stakeholders.

● 3+ years’ experience driving core system technologies.

â—Ź Proven expertise in managing complex projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams is essential.

â—Ź Support off-hours work as required, including weekends, holidays, and 24/7 on call responsibilities on a rotational basis.

â—Ź HIPAA Training and Supervisors Orientation (within 30 days of hire); Leadership Development 101 (within one year); Costco Pay Policies (within 90 days of promotion).

Recommended:

â—Ź â—Ź Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

â—Ź Domain experience across multiple architectural domains, including:

o Application Architecture: Designing and integrating complex software systems, microservices, APIs, enterprise applications

o Data Architecture: Data modeling, data governance, data warehousing, ETL, data analytics platforms.

o Infrastructure Architecture: On-premise, cloud, hybrid cloud environments, virtualization, containerization, automation

o Networking Architecture: Network design, security, connectivity, and performance.

o Security Architecture: Cybersecurity principles, identity and access management, data protection, compliance (GDPR, CCPA, SOX, GLBA).

o AI/ML Architecture: Experience in designing and implementing AI/ML solutions, understanding data pipelines for AI, MLOps.

â—Ź Understanding and practical application of industry-standard EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, ArchiMate).

â—Ź Communicates effectively with all levels of management.

â—Ź Communicates effectively with technical teams/vendors.

â—Ź Experience working with international teams and managing projects that drive international growth.

â—Ź Experience developing strategies with cross-functional teams across a wide variety of disciplines.

Pay Range: $137,000 - $200,000, Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) eligible
