Job Summary

The Hybrid Production & Packaging Associate supports both production and packaging to keep our lines running safely, efficiently, and on time. This role emphasizes leadership on the floor by setting the pace, modeling our values, and helping teammates maintain high standards in food safety, quality, and organization.

Key Responsibilities

Lead-by-Example Operations

  • Model positive culture and pace; act as a day-to-day point person when asked.
  • Help train new team members on processes and best practices.
  • Communicate clearly across Production, Packaging, and Quality Assurance to solve problems quickly.

Production Duties

  • Perform pre-, during-, and post-production inspections for food safety and quality.
  • Operate equipment and support batch runs with accuracy and consistency.
  • Follow sanitation, allergen control, and product safety procedures.
  • Complete accurate batch records and documentation.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) to resolve deviations and implement corrective actions.

Packaging Duties

  • Stage and prepare materials for efficient runs.
  • Label, sticker, seal, and box finished goods to spec.
  • Keep packaging stations clean, organized, and audit-ready.
  • Verify labels, stickers, and materials meet specifications.
  • Support shipping prep, mailouts, and e-commerce orders (e.g., Amazon).
  • Assist with receiving and inventory control for packaging supplies.

Quality & Compliance

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) – basic rules for keeping food safe and facilities clean.
  • Follow the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) – U.S. regulations to prevent food safety risks.
  • Support our Organic Certification by ensuring ingredients and processes meet organic standards.
  • Participate in safety and quality checks to make sure products are labeled and packaged correctly.
  • Immediately escalate safety concerns to supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in food manufacturing or packaging preferred, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail; able to follow written procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership: motivates teammates and upholds standards.
  • Flexible and comfortable working across multiple departments.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with willingness to learn and grow.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Standing, bending, and repetitive motion required during shifts.
  • Willingness to work seasonal overtime as needed.
