Online Learning Support Teacher- Part Time<br><br>Position Overview<br><br>Dwight Global Online School, which was recently named the #2 best online high school in the United States by Newsweek magazine, is seeking an experienced and innovative High School/Middle School Learning Support Teacher to teach virtual one-on-one classes starting in August 2023. The ideal candidate is a flexible and innovative team player with a gift for igniting the spark of genius in online students around the world.<br><br>The Learning Support teacher will work one-on-one with students in need of additional academic support in order to access our rigorous curriculum. Combining real-time video conference seminars, individual online tutorials, and optional residential experiences, Dwight Global provides the best elements of a day school, boarding school, and online school.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Meet one-on-one multiple times weekly with students; maintain safe, efficient, and engaging online environment; display evidence of positive and appropriate relationship with student</li><li>Liaise with HOD, deans, school counselors, and parents regarding student progress</li><li>Utilize technology effectively to advance the educational process and engage students</li><li>Provide one-on-one academic and organizational support to struggling learners</li><li>Provide high-level support in one or more of the traditional academic disciplines (English, history, math, chemistry or biology)</li><li>Complete additional special education-focused training programs</li><li>Display a commitment to diversity and creating a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging in approach to teaching and learning, as they are recognized and valued by Dwight<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Undergraduate degree in Education or a related field</li><li>Formal training in Special Education is strongly preferred</li><li>At least three years of experience teaching</li><li>Ability to differentiate and modify lessons and assignments based on student need</li><li>Exceptional organizational skills; the ideal candidate is very detail-oriented</li><li>Ability to communicate clearly in writing</li><li>Experience working, teaching, and/or collaborating online required</li><li>Ability to actively engage with the classroom teachers and maintain regular contact with parents about student progress in all areas</li><li>Experience utilizing different kinds of technology</li><li>Experience teaching a range of learners</li><li>Eagerness to contribute positively to the Dwight community</li><li>Willingness to engage with and learn from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences</li><li>Ability to bring joy, kindness, maturity, and flexibility to the school environment</li><li>Availability in the late afternoons and evenings EST is preferred<br><br></li></ul>Powered by JazzHR<br><br>84hcLk4ABr
