This position is responsible for assisting in the development, distribution, and use of competitive information, competition studies, and analytic reports that are used by the Product teams, Member Firms, and Partner Carriers in order to facilitate product evaluation, identify product trends, and drive better results for M Member Firms and their clients. 

Your efforts, analysis, and insights will help shape the future of M’s product portfolio.

Key areas of responsibility include analysis of insurance products, maintenance of tools and reports, data aggregation.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Competitive Analysis:

  • Collaborate with senior analysts to maintain competitive studies for M’s proprietary products and their key competitors
  • Gather, clean, and analyze large data sets on M’s suite of life insurance products
  • Master the utilization of M’s software tools for tracking product features and trends

Competitive Intelligence:

  • Utilize various sources (e.g., competitor websites, industry publications, software) to collect and organize competitive intelligence on life insurance products
  • Maintain databases and internal tools used to track competitor product offerings
  • Conduct competitive analysis and provide competitive reports to various stakeholders, such as other teams and external partners
  • Provide supporting material for white papers to assist Member Firms in understanding and communicating life insurance products
  • Assist in answering questions from Member Firms about products
  • Track changes to the life insurance product landscape

Miscellaneous:

  • Continually enhance knowledge of life insurance and investment products, financial software, taxation, and financial analysis methodologies and concepts
  • Provide support and product insights for sales support team
  • Maintain reports of key product features and parameters
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS           

  • Bachelor’s degree with focus on business, finance, economics, or other related field
  • Some work experience in life insurance, finance, or analytics preferred
  • Experience with Excel required
  • Experience with VBA and SQL preferred
  • Comfort managing large amounts of data
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills with an eye for detail and a focus on process

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience, knowledge, and skills.
You will also be eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus.

Job Conditions and Environment

  • This position is based on-site at our offices in Uptown at the Quad in Dallas, TX with the flexibility to work one day remotely 
  • Normal office environment/desk assignment 
  • Extensive use of PC’s, computer terminal, display, keyboard, and mouse
  • Extensive hands-on work with documents, spreadsheets, and other written documents 
  • Potential for light travel (up to 10%)
