We are currently hiring Overhire Carpenters to provide temporary production support in our Lincolnwood, Illinois shop. This position has the potential to transition to full-time employment based on performance and project needs. This is an on-site position Monday - Friday from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES CARPENTRY PRODUCTION: Independently perform complex carpentry tasks such as cutting, assembling, joinery, sanding, finishing, and fastening components precisely according to detailed shop drawings and specifications. Read, interpret, and verify shop drawings and project specifications with little to no supervision. Prototype, troubleshoot, and build components from sketches, models, or verbal instructions. Maintain consistently high craftsmanship and production output, meeting established quality and timeline goals. Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently. Prepare and pack road boxes independently for transport and installation. SHOP SAFETY & UPKEEP: Follow all Ravenswood Safety Policies rigorously and wear required PPE. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace and encourage others to do the same. Proactively identify and address potential safety hazards. WORKFORCE PARTICIPATION: Arrive on time, follow attendance policies, and accurately record work hours. Assist in packing, wrapping, and transporting materials for transport and installation. Work overtime or weekends as required to meet project demands. COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION: Maintain a positive, professional attitude and communicate clearly and respectfully with all personnel. Contribute proactively to team discussions and problem-solving efforts. Take initiative in completing tasks and adapting to changes with minimal guidance. Support teammates and foster a cooperative work environment. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, 65 pounds occasionally, and 100 pounds with assistance. Wear protective footwear, eyewear, hearing protection, and respiratory PPE as required. Stand for prolonged periods. Proficient in reading construction documentation, using scale rules, and interpreting artistic elevations, models, renderings, sketches, and detailed drawings. Extensive familiarity and safe operation of electric, pneumatic, and woodworking power tools. Provide and maintain personal hand tools, cordless power tools, layout tools, and appropriate tool storage. Reliable and ready for frequent travel and truck loading. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Ability to hit the ground running and contribute to fast-paced, custom fabrication projects. Relevant degree/diploma, professional certification, or equivalent work experience/demonstrated skills. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a related carpentry or fabrication field. Strong knowledge of materials, joinery techniques, finishing processes, and modern fabrication methods Confident, safe operation of table saws, miter saws, sanders, routers, pneumatic nailers, and staplers Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to recognize when a task requires additional expertise and to seek assistance appropriately. Proactive, resourceful problem solver with a strong attention to detail and aesthetics.
