We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and play a key role in leveling up the services powering the bridge between the internet and our infrastructure! What you will be doing
  • Ship code to production and improve the experience of millions of Zendesk users!
  • Design and implement components of Zendesk’s Edge architecture.
  • Implement changes at the platform level, increasing the efficiency of multiple teams.
  • Develop solutions protecting our systems from abuse and misuse.
  • Work across organizational boundaries to integrate services focusing on releasing quality code and observability.
  • Collaborate with development teams to investigate sophisticated performance and reliability issues spanning large distributed systems.
  • Provide and institute proven practices around reliability, remediations, and solving problems.
What you bring to the role
Required:
  • Proven experience with Go or Python.
  • Proven 3+ years of work history as a software engineer working on high-traffic, customer-facing distributed systems, or in a similar engineering role.
  • Experience working with large codebases and shipping features and capabilities that meet a high level of operational reliability, security and scalability.
  • Deep understanding of network protocols, DNS, TLS/SSL, load balancing.
  • Experience with Nginx, Envoy or other proxy technologies.
  • Knowledge of caching solutions, CDN (Cloudflare, Akamai, Cloudfront, Fastly, etc).
  • Communication skills: you’re good at listening and speaking up.
Preferred:
  • Experience with observability tooling for large distributed systems.
  • Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes or other containerization solutions.
  • Experience with Jenkins, Spinnaker or other CICD technologies.
  • Experience with API-Gateway technologies.
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.

The Poland annualized base salary range for this position is zł235,000.00-zł353,000.00. Please note that while the salary range represents the minimum and maximum base salary rate for this position, the actual compensation offered will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives that will be communicated during the offer stage.
Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
