About the Opportunity

Eriez Flotation Canada Inc. the flagship office for FLOTATION, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our Mechanical Engineering Team. Your primary function of this role is to design check, develop designs, drawings, and standardizations of Eriez Flotation products.

Requirements

In this role, you will undertake the following duties, including but not limited to:

  • Responsible for design checking of mechanical & instrument drawings, P&ID’s of all EFD product lines
  • Responsible for 3D modeling of EFD product lines and preparing drawings
  • Supervise designers and checkers as needed
  • Provide startup drawing information on new projects
  • Plan, co-ordinate and issue work to designers as needed
  • Provide work procedures for drawing related tasks as needed
  • Assist with design improvements on all EFD products
  • Establish, update, and encourage best practices for 3D modelling and drafting for all EFD product lines
  • Responsible for AutoCAD co-ordination including library management
  • Mentor junior designers in mechanical design
  • Standardization of drawings and documents as needed
  • Assist in inspection of parts and equipment in our shop and out of town/country facilities
  • Participate in the installation, repair and maintenance of EFD products on client sites

To qualify, you must have a post secondary education, diploma in Mechanical Design or Technologist Certification with +10 of design experience. Degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.

In addition, you must have knowledge, skills, or experience in the following:

  • Advance knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and Vault Pro is required
  • Detail oriented and well-organized
  • Able to problem solve independently and within a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills with an ability to multi-task, prioritize demands and meet tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with codes and standard (API 650, ASME, CSA, CWB) is an asset
  • Design of industrial access structures such as platform/ladder/stairs is an asset
  • Experience with weldment design is an asset
  • Experience in fabrication environment is an asset
