Job Description

As the largest online distributor of restaurant supplies and equipment, WebstaurantStore hosts an expansive catalogue with over 430,000 products. By stepping into the role of Social Media Manager within our company, you'll lead our Organic Social Media team, driving our brand's identity and engagement through content creation, platform management, performance analysis, strategy optimization, and oversight of third-party review sites. Reporting to the Director of Video and collaborating with the Vice President of Design and Media, you'll craft compelling, trend-driven content that cements our position as a digital leader in the food industry.

Job Requirements

Social Media:

  • Lead the creation of engaging organic social media content, ensuring all of its on-brand, purposeful, and audience-targeted.
  • Oversee content approvals and publishing across all platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube.
  • Use performance analytics to identify trending topics, forecast content needs, and execute strategies that are aligned with the brand’s values, culinary vision, and marketing objectives.
  • Direct community engagement and management on review sites.
  • Provide regular performance updates and insights for leadership.

People Management:

  • Supervise a team of social media professionals to drive performance and growth.
  • Set and refine team goals, host regular meetings/one-on-one sessions, and provide clear communication of expectations.
  • Continually develop/update procedures to clarify roles, responsibilities, and success metrics. 
  • Participate in hiring, training, and team development.

Administrative:

  • Act as the primary liaison for flagship platforms and external partners, ensuring compliance and ROI.
  • Oversee contracts and tools such as AirTable and Sprout Social.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on direction and approvals.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in social media marketing, content creation, and creative direction, preferably with a focus on the food industry.
  • 2+ years of people management experience; fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment for remote and in-person teams.
  • Experience acting as a “creative engine” within an enterprise-level environment, ideally focused on e-commerce.
  • Strong portfolio that highlights food photography and video production skills.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, etc.) and social media scheduling/analytics platforms.
  • Experience setting, forecasting, and achieving growth KPIs and team performance goals.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest social media trends, algorithms, and best practices.
  • Working within CST or EST business hours, regardless of location.
