Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of tax regulations and bookkeeping concepts, along with excellent customer service skills. As a Tax Preparer, you will assist clients in preparing their tax returns accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid grasp of financial principles. At Finger Lakes Small Business Solutions, we handle taxes, bookkeeping, payroll and any combination of the above for our clients. Our ideal team member would be able to work independently on handling taxes, bookkeeping, payroll etc for whatever client they are working with.

Duties

  • Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  • Review financial records, including income statements and documentation of expenses.
  • Provide guidance on tax-related questions and offer advice on tax planning strategies.
  • Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks, to manage client information, cleanup bookkeeping, train clients on how to properly enter information and prepare reports.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of income and payroll tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Assist clients with understanding their tax obligations and potential deductions.
  • Perform calculations using 10 key typing for accuracy in data entry.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of all tax filings.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Tax Preparer or in a similar role within accounting or finance.
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations, financial concepts, and corporate accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
  • Excellent math skills with the ability to perform complex calculations accurately.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with payroll and sales tax would round out the "perfect" candidate

Join our team as a Tax Preparer where your expertise will help individuals and businesses navigate their financial responsibilities effectively! This position would start as part time, with the potential to grow into full time rapidly depending on skill set. This position can also be flexible. You can make your own hours etc, so if you have life obligations and are only available certain days or times this may be the perfect position for you. Some remote work may be an option for the right candidate.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
