POSITION SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for providing exceptional customer services to patrons in a warm and welcoming atmosphere; in addition to clerical and receptionist services to the Recreation and Community Services Department. This position is responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of the reception area.

As this position involves a high level of interaction with the public and coordination with community stakeholders, this position must accurately disseminate and relay information from the community to the relevant Town personnel as needed. The availability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends is required.

COMPENSATION

  • 2025 wage range: $24.86 / hour to $27.16 / hour

  • $3/hour shift premium for evenings and weekends

  • 100% employer paid health and dental benefit premiums (excluding LTD) after successful completion of a 6-month probationary period

  • $1000 annual health spending account

  • Opportunity for a 5.75% increase effective January 1, 2026

  • Opportunity for a 5.75% increase effective January 1, 2027

TERM

  • This is a temporary position, with an expected Term of (2)-years.

JOB DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide a broad range of accurate, professional receptionist services in an efficient manner with a customer-first mindset.

  • Greet visitors and answer incoming phone calls in a professional manner.

  • Provide appropriate information, take accurate messages and transfer calls as required.

  • Receive and accurately process transactions for facility admissions, memberships, facility rentals, program registrations and various miscellaneous items.

  • Ensure that cash is correct and dispense an accurate amount of change.

  • Ensure all daily transactions balance with daily balance totals.

  • Accurately document complaints and escalate as necessary.

  • Follow up to ensure complaints have been responded to.

  • Serve as an information liaison for Town staff and members of the general public as it relates to facility bookings.

  • Provide general facility use instructions, including facility policies and rules to patrons.

  • Perform light custodial duties in the reception area as assigned.

  • Attend safety training and meetings as scheduled.

  • Assist the department in fulfilling its responsibilities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Age 16+.

  • Previous cash handling, POS and computer skills an asset.

  • Experience in customer service an asset.

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.

  • Approachable attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Flexible, resourceful and able to adapt to a changing environment.

  • Subject to a criminal record check.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computers and peripherals.

  • Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required.
