Ultrasound Technologist: (PRN in Del Norte) Assume direct patient care responsibilities as assigned by the radiologist or department director, Perform ultrasound procedures, Doppler vascular examinations, abdominal studies and color-flow ultrasound, ECHO. Soft tissue and MSK exams as required ensure patient safety, perform full range of general ultrasound exams, including vascular and diagnostic procedures. Obtain and relay pertinent clinical information to the nurses/doctor, manages the workflow of the department to ensure timely completion of all work, ability to operate PACS and EMR, maintain an active continuing education program, conduct business as a health care professional, On call for ER and IP emergent studies

Equipment Knowledge: Excellent computer skills, ultrasound imaging equipment, crash cart, oxygen tanks.

Education: High School Diploma, ARDMS – registered required, vascular specialty within 1 yr. Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Provide quality patient care to all patients within the medical imaging department. Must have verbal skills to present information and ideas essential to supervisory duties and to understand general ultra sound; capable of dealing with people and working closely with patients; workable knowledge of safety procedures, must have patience and enthusiasm as well as the willingness and ability to handle difficult situations with good judgment; must be able to work as a team member; must be knowledgeable of ultra sound and medical practices and procedures and regulations pertaining to Critical Access Hospitals or a willingness to learn.
