Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through strategic solutions in various areas. The role of IT Systems Administrator involves maintaining system health and compliance, supporting configurations and deployments, and performing systems monitoring among other responsibilities.


Responsibilities

  • Work with a small team to maintain the health and compliance of several systems including Windows and Linux supporting web applications serving the military childcare community.
  • Work with an integrated project team to handle releases, configurations, trouble shooting, patches, access and maintenance.
  • Coordinate task lists and schedules across teams to ensure we provide service required on time
  • Support configurations, deployments, security scans and assessments in Microsoft .Net, Java, Drupal, and Adobe ColdFusion technologies
  • Apply security, operating system, software patches (including STIGs and IAVA/IAVB) in the DISA environment
  • Assist in all information assurance and RMF Certification & Accreditation processes
  • Perform systems monitoring, including performance and security monitoring, on all systems
  • Identify areas of innovation, improvements, efficiencies and performance scale improvements

Skills

  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.
  • Must be located near an NMCI Drop (Navy Base)
  • Experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows based environments and will be able to support integrated environments with a mix of all of these technologies in place.
  • TS/SSBI Clearance Required!
  • Security+ certificate or equivalent
  • At least 10+ years of experience in Windows server administration including IIS and web applications using MSSQL Server
  • At least 10+ years of experience in Linux systems, including Ubuntu and Red Hat Web and application servers and services, including Apache Tomcat
  • At least 10+ years of experience in Database Server systems administration MS SQL Server and MySQL (this is not database development, but maintenance of the database system environment)
  • At least 10+ years of experience in Amazon Web Services VMWare Network and systems design and configuration
  • At least 10+ years of experience in Documentation of network and systems designs Windows Servers
  • ColdFusion administration knowledge or experience is a plus
  • Experience with hosting in a secure DISA environment a plus
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud a plus
