Job Title: RN Med Surg / Registered Nurse

Qualifications:


  • Current RN licensure in the state of Kansas.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school.
  • Six months to one year of related experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Compensation and Schedule:


  • Full-time, three nights per week (7:00 pm to 7:30 am), including every other weekend and rotating holidays.
  • Salary range: $30 - $49 per hour, based on experience. Additional pay for BSN.
  • Shift differentials: $2.00/hr for evenings, $2.50/hr for nights, and $2.70/hr for weekends.
  • Comprehensive benefits package with a sign-on/relocation bonus of $5,000 for a 1-year commitment or $10,000 for a 2-year commitment. Tuition reimbursement of $5,000 per year available.


Responsibilities:


  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients within a hospital setting.
  • Utilize AIDET communication methods with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Coordinate patient assignments with the Charge Nurse and receive bedside reports from outgoing staff.
  • Perform and document real-time head-to-toe assessments.
  • Monitor patients, report changes, notify providers as necessary, and update relevant staff on patient conditions.
  • Administer medications following approved techniques and protocols.
  • Educate patients and their families, documenting in the electronic flow chart.
  • Perform hourly rounds and collaborate with support staff to provide patient teaching.


Additional Information:


  • The facility is a not-for-profit acute care hospital with fewer than 50 beds.
  • Target nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1, often 3-4:1 until census grows. Depending on census, additional nursing or CNA support may be available.
