Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting. This role includes overseeing nursing assistants, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and supporting the clinical and administrative functions necessary to maintain the highest standards of resident care. The RN works under the direction of the Director of Nursing or Nurse Manager.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide nursing assistants in the delivery of care in accordance with federal, state, and facility policies.
  • Ensure nursing staff adherence to facility protocols, clinical procedures, and professional standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan and coordinate resident care, services, and activities.
  • Conduct routine reviews of care procedures and documentation practices to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in the review and development of departmental policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation, including care plans, assessments, incident reports, and census updates.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives within the nursing department.
  • Support the facility’s readiness for surveys and audits by government and regulatory agencies.
  • Admit, discharge, and transfer residents in accordance with clinical and administrative protocols.
  • Provide direct resident care, including skilled nursing procedures such as catheterization, IV therapy, and tube feedings.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, interdisciplinary teams, and external healthcare partners.
  • Educate and mentor nursing staff to promote continuous learning and professional growth.

Required Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience, preferably in long-term care, skilled nursing, or a similar environment.
  • Proficient in clinical assessment, care planning, and patient monitoring.
  • Skilled in performing clinical procedures, including IV therapy, catheterization, wound care, and tube feedings.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems; familiarity with Epic or Cerner preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Advanced certifications in geriatrics, wound care, or infection prevention are a plus

Pay: $34.00 per hour
