Summary:


The Center for Leadership & Community Engagement (CLCE) at Rollins College is seeking a part-time Program Assistant! The CLCE Program Assistant will be immersed in hands-on experiences that focus on both academic and student affairs, as it relates to community engagement, civic and democratic initiatives, and service. The Program Assistant will elevate community and civic engagement initiatives and service projects for both the Rollins Community and the larger Central Florida Community by taking an active role in all aspects of community care:

  • Serve as the Co-Advisor for the JUMP (Join Us in Making Progress) Program
    • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Student Service Coordinators
    • Assist in developing weekly 5-minute on-campus service projects
    • Advise and support in the development of monthly Saturdays of Service
    • Connect with Community Partners to identify need and capacity while building strong relationships as an ambassador of Rollins College to the local community
  • Serve as the Co-Advisor for the Rollins College Democracy Project (DP)
    • Train, supervise, and evaluate the Democracy Project Student Coordinator & Student Ambassadors.
    • Model and exemplify nonpartisan civic engagement on campus and in the community
    • Track and log Democracy Project event attendance in CLCE assessment dashboard.
    • Provide support for the DP to collaborate and build sustainable partnerships across campus for civic engagement.
    • Provide Staff Support for all DP events and initiatives (Politics on Tap, Constitution Day, National Voter Registration Day, Rally to the Polls/After Polls Watch Party, etc).
  • Assess learning outcomes and program quality using Qualtrics assessment tool
  • Co-Lead the Rollins Relief Program
    • Remain up to date on current events impacting our local communities and beyond
    • Craft campus-wide emails to inform the Rollins Community of current events and resources
  • Serve as the lead for planning and implementation of CLCE larger campus events and initiatives including, but not limited to: #SeniorSERVE & #SummerSERVE, Spring SPARC (Co-Lead), MLK Jr. Day of Service, Thaddeus & Polly Seymour Acts of Kindness Day, etc.
  • Serve as staff lead on the organization of Student Leadership Conference Experiences
    • Assist students with their applications, review submissions, support student development in conference session delivery, complete registrations, and provide travel support
  • Support all campus-wide Civic Engagement efforts
    • Develop and sustain Civic Engagement Community Partners (Ex. League of Women Voters, City of Orlando, City of Winter Park, etc)
    • Engage in National movements and organizations that elevate campus civic engagement efforts.

    • ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge
    • TurboVOTE
    • Unify America
    • Coalition for Civic Participation
    • Voter Friendly Campus initiative
    • Assist students in creating and submitting annual Action Plan
    • Craft campus-wide & community focused communication
  • Support the Common Ground Speaker Series
    • Keep an accurate budget report of all event expenses
    • Compile a post-event reflection
  • Participate in one (1) professional development opportunity to attend
  • General Office Expectations
    • Maintain Outlook calendar and respond to emails in a timely, professional manner
    • Serve as a mentor and resource to all students across campus
    • Represent CLCE at campus events
    • Assess CLCE programming and complete grant reports
    • Familiarize yourself with CE Best Practices and Leadership Development theories
    • Become well-versed in the Strategic Vision of the College, currently focused on 1) Global Challenges and Solutions and 2) Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
    • Facilitate at least one immersion experience
    • Conduct and/or attend Community Partner site visit(s)
    • Attend all CLCE Team meetings and retreats (including student retreats)
    • Familiarize yourself with Givepulse and GetInvolved
    • Trained and approved driving a 15 Passenger Mini-Bus
    • Attend “All Hands-on Deck” campus-wide events (may fall on evenings/weekends
    • Effectively utilize Office 365, Adobe Creative programs, Teams, Canva, MyRollins, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Possess a valid driver's license, or ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and an acceptable motor vehicle record.

Employment Dates: August 2025 - May 31, 2026 (start and end dates flexible)

Work Schedule:
The Program Assistant is scheduled to work approximately 30 hours per week (five of these hours will be spent meeting with student organizations) and for a total of or fewer than 1,000 hours per year. The schedule will depend on availability and department needs with the ability to work flexible hours.

Pay Rate: The hourly rate is $16.00 and there are no benefits associated with this position.

Work Environment:
  • Campus-based, front-facing customer service position, working in fast-paced and high-energy work environment.
  • Work may require some visual strain.
