Overview
Harger, a leading manufacturer of lightning protection and grounding components, is seeking an experienced Shipping Clerk to support our Shipping & Receiving Department. The Shipping clerk will work with Shipping & Receiving team members, Plant Management, Purchasing, Customer Service and Sales departments as well as other areas to fulfill shipping requirements within the facility. Ensure that products are received efficiently for use within the plant or witin inventory stock for resale to customers.

Duties

  • Pick and pack shipping orders using RF scanners.
  • Processing UPS and FedEx shipments through Navision, UPS World Ship and other third-party logistics suppliers.
  • Use a forklift to carry shipments around work area and onto loading dock.
  • Maintain inventory on packing and shipping supplies by daily cycle counting.
  • Ensure that stock shelves are maintained properly and well organized.
  • Review daily reports with Manager to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping/receiving schedules.
  • Expedite of required quick turnaround orders by customers and Inside Sales.
  • Coordinate products from Receiving to work cells and from work cells to Shipping.
  • Communicate with the Manager on all issues related to discrepancies on shipments and receipts.
  • Back up receiving when needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma.
  • Previous warehouse experience is required; familiarity with shipping & receiving processes is preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
  • Strong basic math skills for accurate inventory counting and order processing.
  • Inventory control knowledge.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in order picking & packing tasks.
  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
